We are happy to announce the latest release of NXLog Platform, version 1.6. This release brings several key improvements, changes, and fixes to aid usability, security, and performance. Our team has introduced changes to improve integration with third-party technologies, made packaging adjustments, and enhanced the configuration workflow. Below, we highlight the most significant changes.
Enhanced configuration editor
The configuration editor in NXLog Platform has been improved with better syntax highlighting, more accurate error detection, and smarter input suggestions when operating in text mode.
These enhancements make writing and editing configurations more intuitive and less error-prone. They are especially helpful when working with large or complex setups, saving time and reducing the risk of mistakes.
Security updates
We have implemented a series of security updates based on findings from a recent vulnerability assessment.
These changes strengthen the security posture of NXLog Platform, helping reduce the risk of exploitation. It’s an important step in keeping NXLog Platform reliable and secure, especially in environments with strict security requirements.
NXLog Agent improvements
Starting with NXLog Agent 6.7:
-
NXLog Agent introduces a native input module for Okta integration: im_okta.
This new module replaces the older Perl-based add-on, removing the need for external dependencies and improving reliability and performance when collecting Okta logs.
-
Native OSQuery support is now included in the NXLog Agent packages for Windows, macOS, and Generic Linux agents, as the new input module im_osquery.
This allows security teams and system administrators to collect detailed system state information using standard SQL syntax, making system investigations and monitoring more efficient.
-
Expanded module support has been added to the generic Linux NXLog Agent packages. The following modules are now included: im_amazons3, im_azuremonitor, im_googlelogging, im_googlepubsub, im_ms365, im_okta, im_osquery, im_otel, im_salesforce, om_amazons3, om_azuremonitor, om_chronicle, om_googlelogging, om_googlepubsub, om_otel, xm_transform.
This simplifies using NXLog Platform for managing telemetry from Linux-based infrastructure by eliminating the need to separately install modules based on specific requirements.
Together, these updates support broader integration, simplify deployment in diverse environments, and ensure more complete and reliable telemetry collection. They also reduce compatibility issues and help teams get better performance and visibility from their log data.
