We are happy to announce the latest release of NXLog Platform, version 1.4. This release adds new features and bug fixes, including the ones highlighted below.
Improved agent onboarding
This release includes a new enhanced agent onboarding wizard. The process is much simpler yet achieves much more than the previous version. The new method incorporates everything you need to install, configure, and enroll your agents in five simple, easy-to-follow steps. Enrolling your NXLog Agent instances to NXLog Platform has never been easier.
Agent Management API Swagger UI documentation visible
In July, we announced the initial version of the Agent Management API with NXLog Platform release 1.1. It has been a great and evolving tool for managing your NXLog Agent fleet ever since.
With this release, we made the Agent Management API reference documentation available straight from NXLog Platform, where you can quickly try out new API endpoints and their parameters. In addition to the API documentation in our Developer Guide, the accessibility of the Swagger UI documentation greatly enhances the usability of our Agent Management API.
Log flow end-to-end visualization
Starting with this version, you can create a log flow data visualization dashboard for your NXLog Agent instances. Log flow provides a centralized, end-to-end visualization of the configuration templates used by agents and the EPS transfer through the various log sources and destinations. Visualizing the log data flow can help you better understand your data’s journey and review event-per-second (EPS) metrics across different parts of your system.
Enhanced support for OpenTelemetry
NXLog Agent 6.4 introduced initial support for OpenTelemetry with the OpenTelemetry Collector input module. This enabled NXLog Agent to collect logs and traces over both HTTP(S) and gRPC transport using the OpenTelemetry protocol. NXLog Agent 6.5 expands on this and adds the OpenTelemetry Exporter output module for forwarding OpenTelemetry logs and traces over HTTP(S) and gRPC connections to an OpenTelemetry collector or backend.
Microsoft Azure logs ingestion
NXLog Agent 6.5 introduces the Microsoft Azure Logs Ingestion input module to better support the Azure log monitoring stack through the Azure Monitor Log Analytics API. It supports proxies, internal pagination of long responses, and more precise request handling.
