We are proud to announce the latest release of NXLog Enterprise Edition, version 5.8. Our newest release includes new modules, better integrations, and additional metrics to collect across your organization.
Read on to find out more about some of these new features.
Native Salesforce module
We’ve built a new native module (im_salesforce) for ingesting logs from Salesforce. With this, you no longer have to run an external Python-based Add-On script. All the functionality of our old Add-On is now native to NXLog, making your experience faster and more secure.
New module for Azure Monitor Logs ingestion
Microsoft’s current ingestion API (Data Collector) for Azure Monitor will be deprecated in 2024, but a newer API version is available - the Azure Monitor API. We’ve built a new module (om_azuremonitor) to integrate with this newer API version, future-proofing our support for Azure Monitor.
Use macOS system CA certificates
To improve the security and ease of use of NXLog Enterprise Edition for our macOS users, we’ve added support for using the built-in system Certificate Authority certificates. Now, you don’t have to configure the path to a CA certificate for well-known CAs - instead, we integrate with the macOS KeyChain.
Improved error handling in Elasticsearch module
We’ve improved how NXLog Enterprise Edition handles errors when sending logs in batches to Elasticsearch (om_elasticsearch). Instead of erroneously resending packets when there is an obvious error, NXLog can make a smart decision about whether to drop the batch or attempt to resend a specific number of times.
Additional administrative metric improvements
We’ve included additional metrics in our administrative module (xm_admin) to capture more information from across your network. This allows you to count the number of UDP event sources when using our im_udp module, a feature that already exists for TCP event sources. Additionally, you can determine the CPU architecture that event sources are running on.
