It’s finally the holiday season, and we’re down to a skeleton staff here at NXLog. It’s nearly time for us to shut down our laptops, pick up a cup of hot chocolate (or mulled wine if we’re lucky), and get ready for a week or so of reading, relaxing, opening presents, perhaps coping with distant relatives, and all-around merry-making over the holiday period.
So we hope you’ll forgive us if we keep this recap of 2023 succinct.
Read on to learn about what we at NXLog achieved in 2023! We’re pretty proud of it.
NXLog Enterprise Edition 6 packs in even more features
We pushed out more features than ever with our seven new NXLog Enterprise Edition releases this year. This includes a new major version of our flagship product, NXLog Enterprise Edition 6.
We’re incredibly proud of the work we put into NXLog Enterprise Edition this year, so let’s highlight some of the top new features. One big innovation was the introduction of composite values support, which seriously simplifies complex log data processing. Our symlink support improvement allows you to work more efficiently with files and directories. Additionally, we introduced Trusted Platform Module (TPM) support so that your private keys remain secure - a welcome addition that was tested and is now being used by a major global bank. Overall, we reworked many core components for the major version 6 release, which improved the Flow control and LogQueue implementation, fixed several memory leaks, and further enhanced the reliability and stability of NXLog Enterprise Edition.
We want to ensure that you can integrate with popular cloud-based services, so this year we also implemented support for Google Cloud Pub/Sub, Google Logging (including API v2), Microsoft 365, Amazon S3, and Salesforce.
Finally, it’s worth mentioning that we added support for seven new platforms, taking our total supported operating systems now to over 100, further increasing the gap between us and our competitors.
Raijin improvements
Our friends at Raijin have been working just as hard to improve and update the Raijin Database Engine. The most important milestone for the project this year was the release of Raijin 1.0, a fully-capable schemaless SQL-like database. Check out our blog post on the release to find out more details.
After releasing the all-important version 1.0, the team went on to develop and release a number of major features, including user management, improved sorting and search speeds, authentication support, and SQL views to reuse queries and reduce complexity when managing your data.
Follow along with Raijin’s progress as the team seeks to build the best purpose-built database engine for semi-structured data.
More regulations, more compliance requirements
Compliance was a ongoing theme of our work this year. We know how much of a pain it can be to comply with an ever-growing number of regulations and standards. Luckily, thanks to our wonderful Technology Evangelist, Roman, we have the details and the experience to make this as painless as possible - whether it’s maritime security regulations, PCI DSS, or a whole host of obscure rules you may never have heard of. Check out Roman’s blog posts on the topic of compliance, and feel free to reach out to us directly so we can help you meet your compliance mandates.
Customers and customer success
We published eight new case studies over the year, with some real worldwide heavyweights in industries ranging from maritime to airline, and banking to education. La Banque Postale, Ports of Auckland, the University of East Anglia, and Altice Portugal to name a few. You can check out their case studies to get an idea of how other companies use NXLog products to help them in their log collection and log management journey.
Speaking of our customers, we’ve added two new Fortune 500 companies to our roster, General Electric Company UK and International Flavors and Fragrances, taking our total up to over 50 Fortune 500 companies.
And the best news of all is that our Customer Success team has achieved a whopping 4.85/5 star satisfaction rating. When something goes wrong - as it always does in IT - and you need a helping hand, you know you can rely on us.
Expert opinions

As a log collection company, we know the trouble that comes with being locked to a specific ecosystem. This article shows just how bad it can get and also how hard it can be to determine if you’re already locked in.
