Community Edition Upgrade

So we are currently running Community Edition version 2.10.2150 and we're trying to upgrade to the latest version of Community Edition. Does anything need to be done with the config files we have in place? Or will they remain intact since we're going from community -> community and not community -> enterprise.
Also do you know if this type of upgrade is going to require a reboot? (servers)

Hi Team,
We are planning to upgrade nxlog enterprise edition from 3.x to 5.x version.
While planning we were looking at the compatibility matrix of nxlog collector , agent , elastic search and kibana.
to be precise what version of Elastic search will be supoourted with Nxlong v5.x.

Hope all are well.
I am new to nxlog and trying to plan for an upgrade from vUpgrade from nxlog-ce-2.9 to latest 5.x.
Can someone please help us in below queries.
Can we upgrade to the latest version
IS upgrading to latest version is recomended?
can we directly upgrade it or its a multihop upgrade from v3.x -> 4.x -> 5.x
is there any link to go through the upgrade process in windows environment?
