Talking about the installation itself on Windows machines - it's pretty easy and there'e no significant challenges - we provide installation package that takes care about the installation. Documentation can be found here: https://nxlog.co/docs/nxlog-ce/nxlog-reference-manual.html.
Please note, that CE is available currently only in 32 bit version. If you'd like to use 64 bit and have more possibilities, you may consider requesting free trial of NXLog Enterprise Edition..
