Hi, I am receiving a Defender SmartScreen message when trying to install nxlog-ce-2.11.2190.msi. I do not recall receiving this message when installing nxlog-ce-2.10.2150.

Is this expected behaviour for the latest version on a fully patched Windows machine? (This has been tested on Windows 10 and Windows Server 2012 R2/2019 with the same outcome each time).

That's rather unexpected. We've just quickly tested the msi of 2.11 and nothing wrong happened - could you bring some more info about your installation process?

Thank you,

I downloaded the .msi file from https://nxlog.co/thank-you-download?backlink=https://nxlog.co/products/nxlog-community-edition/download&downloadurl=https://nxlog.co/system/files/products/files/348/nxlog-ce-2.11.2190.msi and then double-clicked it to run it. The result is a Windows Defender SmartScreen message stating "Unknown publisher". This occurs almost immediately and has done so on several different systems (including a freshly built test VM). All have been joined to a Windows Domain.

Is there a particular CA certificate that needs to be present on my machine for the .msi file to be trusted?

    Kind regards,

Im afraid there's nothing we can do here. NXLog Community Edition comes only as not signed packages. If you need signed ones - you can consider getting NXLog Enterprise Edition, which comes with this feature (and many more above what offers NXLog CE - you can explore the differences on this page.

    Best regards,
