Not in installed apps and finding out version

Hello :)

I have a friend that is asking why he cant find nxlog on his pc under installed applications, When I run the .msi file I can find it easily. Did his previous security officer install it a different way? (On Windows)

Also how can I see what version of nxlog is currently running? (On Windows)

The log file at C:\Program Files\nxlog\data/nxlog.logshould containa line with started. This will have the version in it.
Example:
INFO nxlog-4.2.4175 started

Right click on the nxlog.exe file, choose properties, and go to details. You should also see the version here.

As for your original question, it is likely this is an old version installed under HKCU instead of HKLM .
