Installation Command Line Arguments

#1 asaid@bareescentuals.com

Hi,

I am a new at this and would like to know the command line argument that will let me specify what config file to use. I need to have this done during installation and avoid changing the file post installation.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Unfortunately this is not possible the way you'd like to. There are also cases when more than one file is needed (e.g. certificates) so this wouldn't be the ultimate solution anyway.

On the other hand there are several options to help with bulk deployment:

  • Create an msi that contains the configuration files needed along with other files (e.g. certificates). This can be deployed together with the installer. We have a set of scripts that can be used to build such an msi package. This is available to NXLog EE customers upon request.
  • Use NXLog Manager in combination with NXLog EE. The configuration (and any changes later) can be pushed to the agents remotely from a central UI.
